You're not a real traveler if you haven't been to the Big Bend National Park. It may not be your idea of a productive "stroll", but in order to get around the terrain, you'd have to drive a four-wheeler. And THAT is a challenge in itself.
The Big Bend is rough. Rocks are not pebbles, grass is spiny, cactus thrives. Bear and horse footprints are everywhere. Camping at the Chisos Valley is fun, but the winds will knock you down. They will wake you up before you can even fall asleep. As a matter of fact, when the winds came down the valley, they persisted throughout the night, so Joe and I camped out in the backseat of the Durango. That was fun too!
Go to the Big Bend and prove yourself an adventurer. Just make sure you have your hand on the steering wheel as you maneuver your way down the hills. It's like a roller-coaster ride but if your truck rolls over, there will be no paramedics standing by.
